10.4: AirPort mit neuem Ausschlag

Wer sich wundert, warum das eigene AirPort Menüleistenicon plötzlich einen konstant höheren Ausschlag zeigt, für den hält Charles Arthur in seinem Tiger-Bericht für Macworld UK die Antwort bereit: "If you're using Airport, you may think that the reception has suddenly improved because it shows more bars in the menu icon. Not so. Apple says "we revised the Airport indicator so it better indicates the performance you should get with your current connection. In this case more bars means faster throughput."
Und wo wir gerade beim Thema AirPort sind: Das AirPort Admin Utility (4.1.1) weigert sich standhaft, meine alte (Dual Ethernet) AirPort Basisstation zu erkennen, nur die manuelle Verbindung über IP und Kennwort-Eingabe hilft.
