Intels frischer CEO Otellini äußerte sich zu den neu (und heftig) aufgefrischten Apple+Intel Gerüchten, die er weder bestätigen noch dementieren wollte: "This is the Halley's Comet of rumors...comes around every five years or so."

Seit Jobs Interview auf der D: Konferenz war die nette Anekdote bekannt, dass man bei Apple darum wette, wie lange Yahoo wartet bevor die Preise für das neueingeführte Musikabo erhöht werden (Steve Jobs tippt auf fünf Monate). Angeblich gibts bei Yahoo ebenfalls eine prominente Wette, diese dreht sich allerdings um die Einführung eines Musikabos durch Apple. David Filo, einer der Yahoo Gründer, wettet, dass dies höchstens noch fünf Wochen dauert, wie O'Reilly Radar mitnotierte.
Wer einen tieferen Einblick in Yahoos Dumping-Musikabo will, sollte bei Om Malik vorbeischauen: "The problem is that this model won’t work for Napster or Real Networks – they just don’t have the scale of Yahoo, or the audiences to cherry pick from 176 million registered users. Yahoo will become their single biggest nightmare. And while that is happening, Apple will continue to sell its iTunes! Think of it this way – if Yahoo Unlimited is Infinity Broadcasting, then Apple is Virgin."

Update: Nachdem LG Chem schon für den zweiten Akkurückruf sorgte, dürfte Apple seinen Zulieferer wechseln, wie Digitimes spekuliert: "Taiwan-based lithium-battery specialists DynaPack International Technology and Simplo Technology may benefit from Apple’s recent recall of notebook-use batteries manufactured by LG Chem of South Korea, as the recall should affect LG Chem’s ability to secure more Apple orders, according to market sources."

Wie von den MacGuardians entdeckt, stellt Ken Bereskin in einem QuickTime Filmchen (QT 7 erforderlich) 10.4 vor. Der Inhalt ist dabei wenig interessant (außer man freut sich über das marketinggefkloskelte Wiederkäuen hinlänglich bekannter Funktionen; da kann auch der Videochat mit Danika Cleary kaum mehr als Lichtblick herhalten), die Qualität des Streams umso mehr.
