Spät, aber dafür umfangreich:

"Is the iPod better than sliced bread. No, is it really better than sliced bread?"

"The LCD display is both brighter and bluer than the 30GB unit. It looks more like the advertising photos that came out when the 30GB units (aka "3rd generation iPods") were released.
The software version shown in the About screen is 2.0.2."

"We found some dramatic speed differences in these systems depending on how we set the new Processor Performance preference, found in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences. By default, Processor Performance is set to Automatic. Changing the setting to Highest improved our results quite a bit. Our MPEG-2 compression test, which took 9:44 on the 1.8GHz system at the stock setting, took 8:32 at the Highest setting. Overall Speedmark scores on the 1.8GHz system rose from 214 to 225 when we switched from Auto to Best."

Ex-Apple employee says company a 'failure'.
Letztendlich bewundert er Apple aber doch:
"64-bit G5 RISC processor from IBM is awesome," Armstrong writes. "The price performance of a dual processor G5 is the best available in the computer industry. Apple and IBM are just at the beginning of this new architecture. I have seen the IBM roadmap of future versions of the Power5 and Power6 chips, and there is nothing on the horizon from other manufacturers that will outperform it ... Panther is way beyond what can be done with other operating systems. Longhorn from Microsoft is way, way out on the horizon. They will have a lot of catching up to do with it."

"We moved all our mission-critical data off Microsoft servers. For trades, anything that directly affects our revenue, they're on Unix boxes," said a technology officer at a worldwide investment bank. "We had to hire people overnight just to load virus software. You can make a whole career out of fixing Microsoft products." The frustrated executive added, "I even got rid of my PC at home. Now I own a Mac."

"Over a decade ago, Apple signed an agreement with Apple Corps, a business controlled by the Beatles and their heirs, which specified the rights each company would have to use the 'Apple' trademark. Unfortunately, Apple and Apple Corps now have differing interpretations of this agreement and will need to ask a court to resolve this dispute."
