Ein Mini Einblick in 10.3.4 (Build 7H56) bei macnews.net.tc: "Runs okay on a PB 15" G4/1.33. Application launching is much improved over builds of Mac OS X 10.3.3 and earlier."

Nachdem Apple Ende März ankündigte, das weltweite Debüt des iPod mini auf Juli zu verschieben, stellte Hitachi bereits in Aussicht, die eigene Produktion entsprechend hochzufahren. Gestern äußerte man sich laut Reuters dann erneut: "Hitachi Ltd's hard disk drive unit said on Sunday that it will spend about $200 million to double the disk drive output of its Thailand factory, including the 1-inch, 4-gigabyte disk drives that are found in the iPod Mini."

"Apple is hoping to see representatives from the scientific community attend Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year to learn more about the future of Apple's products. For the first time, Apple has a specialized scientific agenda that will comprise special IT solution sessions, as well as tracks specific to the scientific community. Winners for the award program will also be announced during WWDC on June 29, 2004. "That's one of the reasons we're doing the announcement at WWDC," said Kerr. "We have a science agenda laid out this year for the first time and we are really trying to get scientists to come."

Die Computerworld vergleicht 14" iBook und 12" PowerBook:
"My sense, however, is that the best bang for the buck is encased in white, though it's not the specific iBook I've been using. Given the narrow price difference between the high-end iBook and the low-end PowerBook (eyesight and screen size not being an issue), I'd easily recommend a jump to the 12-in. PowerBook. It's more than worth the $1 difference, and remember, it weighs just 4.6 pounds. It's lighter even than the base iBook."

Wired schreibt ebenfalls über PearPC:
"Despite the sluggish performance (one user estimated PearPC would need a 150-GHz PC to run OS X in real time) and a painfully convoluted installation procedure, the system is being enthusiastically embraced by curious geeks."
