Jason Snell verbrachte ein Wochenende mit dem neuen iPod und entdeckte dabei unter anderem eine nette Neuigkeit: "Basically, if you've only got a set of headphones (or any other device) connected to your iPod via its mini jack, and that jack gets pulled out, the iPod senses it and automatically pauses. So if you're walking somewhere and you accidentally have your headphones ripped from your iPod (hey, it does happen), the iPod will not continue to play while you regain your senses and decide what to do next."

Steve Jobs mag Kratzer auf dem iPod, das geht aus der Mitschrift eines Live-Talks mit Newsweek Autor Steven Levy hervor: "Though I will admit that when Steve Jobs saw my own iPod covered in a condomlike iSkin, I lost a lot of points with him for shrouding its natural beauty. Nicht alle Studenten der Duke University halten die iPod Aktion für allzu sinnvoll: "Emily LaDue, a junior from Levittown, N.Y., said the iPod distribution was "completely extravagant." The money could have gone to more financial aid, or books and school supplies for low-income students, she said. But many Duke students are wealthy enough to own iPods already, she said. Vor einem halben Jahr erschien bei overclockers.com ein Power Mac G5, der zum Dell umgebastelt wurde, woraufhin der Autor nicht nur massenweise Beschimpfungen erhielt, sondern zugab, dass es sich um einen Hoax handelte. Nun will sich jemand einen Mac selbst zusammengebastelt haben, da ihm ein Neukauf zu teuer wäre (Endpreis des Bastelmacs: 950$). (via TMO)
