Phil Schiller wird die Keynote der Pariser Apple-Expo am 31. August halten, von der weithin die Enthüllung des iMac G5 ersehnt wird. Vielleicht wird Jobs es sich aber nicht nehmen lassen, diesen nach seiner Rückkehr im September dann lieber doch gleich selbst vorzustellen.

John Gruber führt seinen 'Apple hätte den Mac gar nicht lizenzieren können' Artikel weiter und vergleicht die damaligen Ereignisse nun unter dem schönen Titel 'Why 2004 Won’t Be Like 1984' mit der heutigen iPod iTMS Store Situation: "Apple’s position with the iPod is significantly different — and much stronger — than their position with Macintosh 20 years ago. There are admittedly a few similarities, first and foremost of which is that both products are much better designed than any competing product. Second, uh, they both use 12-point Chicago as the system font. (Except for the Mini, which uses Espy Sans, the Newton’s system font.)"

Apple plant angeblich einen Flagship Store in Taiwan: "Apple recently announced that it would set up a flagship store and two franchised shops in downtown Taipei to boost sales of its series new consumer electronic products, including the iPod digital music player. In addition, Apple Taiwan will also tie up with with the 7-11 convenience chain stores to sell the silver-color iPod mini models around the island." Bei The Taiwan Economic News.
Und Japan bekommt wohl noch einen dritten Store in Nagoya, der angeblich im ersten Halbjahr 2005 öffnen soll, so ist bei ifoapplestore zu lesen.
