iPod Photo und U2 iPod [Update]

Beinahe wie gerüchtet kamen tatsächlich der iPod Photo sowie ein schwarzer U2 iPod. Den iPod Photo gibt es in einer 40GB Variante für 499$ und eine 60GB Variante für 599$.

Der iPod Photo ist ziemlich exakt das, was seit langem erwartet wurde. Etwas schwerer und dicker als die 'normale' 40GB Variante ist er allerdings geraten, dafür bringt er eine angebliche Akkulaufzeit von 15 Stunden (beim Musikabspielen mit sich), TV Ausgang ist natürlich ebenfalls vorhanden. Preise im deutschen Apple Store: 530EUR für die 40 GB Variante und 640EUR für 60GB. Verfügbar ab sofort.
Mac Nutzer können den iPod Photo mit iPhoto abgleichen, Windows Nutzer nutzen zum Sync Adobe Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Album oder den 'My Pictures' Ordner. "There are no plans for a Windows version of iPhoto, said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing." gegenüber CNET.

“Having both your entire photo and music collections with you wherever you go is the next big thing,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Everyone has a digital camera and wants to enjoy and share their growing library of digital photos wherever they are. Unlike video content, photo content is free and abundant, and there are no copyright issues to deal with.”

Der U2 iPod kostet 349$ (379 EUR) und wird ab Ende November verfügbar sein, wenn das Album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb” erscheint, welches offenbar nicht auf dem U2 iPod zu finden ist.

"Apple has created the online music industry’s first-of-its-kind “Digital Box Set.” The first digital box set, “The Complete U2,” will contain over 400 tracks including all of the band’s albums and over 25 rare and unreleased tracks. U2 fans will be able to purchase and download The Complete U2 with just one click on the iTunes Music Store in the US and Europe beginning in late November for just $149 (US).[…] U2 iPod customers will receive a coupon for $50 off the purchase of “The Complete U2” available exclusively on the iTunes Music Store."
