Während die Tiger builds weiterhin in schneller Folge kommen, berichtet AppleInsider von ersten 10.3.9 Sichtungen, Details gibts bisher allerdings noch keine. Zudem gibts ein paar Tiger-Schnipsel, dabei unter anderem: "The operating system now also includes new screen savers such as Nature Patterns, Paper Shadow, and an RSS Visualizer." Letzteres macht besonders neugierig. Tiger soll außerdem neue Wallpaper mitbringen, wie fryke schreibt: "The 'Black & White' folder contains some nice, blurry photographs, 'Plants' has some closeups of flowers etc."

TMO hat einen Beitrag in Electronic Design ausgegraben, der es einen knappen Monat unterhalb der Aufmerksamkeitsschwelle ausgehalten hat. Der zweiseitige Artikel wirft einen ausführlichen Blick in das Innere der iPods. "Along with photos of every part that goes into the first-generation and third-generation iPods as well as the iPod mini, the article includes a number of interesting details about component revisions the iPod has undergone over time and represents an unique look at what goes into every iPod." Das es geht war durchaus bekannt, nun ist es von der Knowledge Base gleichsam offiziell abgesegnet: "Airport Express has a USB port for printer sharing, but it can also be used to charge your iPod shuffle. While this port was not intended for this purpose and it's not supported by Apple, iPod shuffle can be safely charged from an Airport Express." Die Teewärmefunktion wird allerdings mit keinem Wort erwähnt.

AppleInsider scheint meine Vermutung zu bestätigen, Rendezvous wird in Zukunft unter dem kürzlich von Apple eingetragenen Markenzeichen Bonjour laufen: "Naturally, when Rendezvous-enabled computers and devices come within range of each other, they say 'hello,' and hence the name 'Bonjour' was later deemed more appropriate," one insider said."

Washington Post Schreiber Rob Pegoraro ist nicht sonderlich zufrieden mit iWork und iLife: "Both iLife and iWork show some unsettling signs of haste -- bugs and usability mistakes Apple should know not to make. IPhoto '05 hides some commands behind right-click menus; iDVD will let you wipe out an entire menu screen if you drag an image in the wrong place; Keynote keeps trying to enter your home page's address when you embed a Web page in a presentation."

pozytron: "iTunesMouseRemote is a program which allows you to control iTunes using your mouse as if it were a remote control. Clicking your middle mouse button (or clicking the scroll wheel if your mouse has one) will play/pause, clicking your left button will go to the previous track, and clicking the right button will go to the next track. Rolling the mouse wheel up and down will change the volume. Obviously, this program requires a mouse with at least three buttons." Hört sich doch gut an, kam allerdings selbst noch nicht zum Antesten.
