MacCentral: "European telecom services company Teleca on Monday announced a partnership with Apple that will enable the services provider to use Apple's hardware and software in its creation, delivery and multimedia playback solutions. The news was released at the 3GSM World Congress being held this week in France. Apple's technology -- especially Mac OS X, Xserve and Xsan -- will be the focal point of Teleca's efforts to build everything from software for mobile devices to large IT networks." Telwem?

"The magic (in Apple's future) could be in the software," Mr. Reitzes said. "The next big 'multiplier' business to get attention will be Apple's software," which UBS estimated will approach US$1 billion in total revenues this fiscal year. "We believe the math behind Apple's software potential is attractive, making our estimates conservative." glauben die Analysten von UBS. Auszüge aus der 'research note' gibts bei TMO und AI.

Die EFF beginnt mit der Verteidigung von PowerPage und AppleInsider, wie CNET meldet: "The subpoenas should not be permitted because Internet journalists deserve the full protection of the First Amendment that their traditional brethren have long enjoyed, the lawyers said in a brief filed in Santa Clara Superior Court. These writers "cannot be compelled to disclose the source of any information procured in connection with their journalistic endeavors, nor any unpublished information obtained," the brief says. "The reporter's privilege applies to online publication and print publication equally."
Update: TMO hat einen ausführlichen Bericht zum Thema mit etlichen würzigen Details: "The EFF filing states that none of the defendants in the case have been officially served by Apple Computer -- more than two months after Apple filed its first motion. Under California law, no civil case can progress if the defendants have not been personally given a copy of the court complaint. Some have concluded that by not serving the defendants in a timely fashion Apple had no intention to follow through with the case and instead was trying to dissuade certain Mac news sites from publishing any further stories about then un-announced products."

MacObserver: ”Mr. Eisner [CEO Walt Disney] had said Pixar's animated characters were "pretty pathetic" compared to those under development for Disney's upcoming film "Rapunzel Unbraided." In response, Mr. Jobs said sarcastically: "Our films don't stack up to 'Atlantis,' 'Emperor's New Groove' or 'Treasure Planet.'" Those films were all created in-house at Disney, and were box office flops. Mr. Jobs also called Mr. Eisner a "loose cannon."“ (ms)

Auch wenn Apples Retail Stores über eine 'no-comments on celebrities policy' besitzen, konnte Leander Kahney die ein oder andere Geschichte aus Angestellten herausholen: "Kiefer Sutherland "thanks you like 40 times when you're helping him," said another."

The Register: "Like California resident Thomas Slattery, who filed a similar complaint against Apple in January, Paris-based UFC-Que Choisir claims that Apple's iTunes Music Store and Sony's Connect service are anti-competitive because they only work with the companies' own music players."
